I really like that Jordan Peterson quote. It’s a shame what he’s become in the last few years though.

It's very insidious, but the best representation I can give of the leftist POV is that they DO care about women's rights and diversity and fairness and all the rest... as ciphers for their agenda. They are so certain (deeply, morally convinced) that their worldview is directionally synonymous with progress that they are willing to sacrifice any number of ACTUAL, individual women or poor people or teenagers (whomever, really-as long as it's not them) on the alter of 'progress.'

This is literally an unfalsifiable belief, and it's an abstract consequentialist one too. Any amount of lies, cruelty, violence, etc. can be excused in order that the agenda (which they imagine is the same as women's rights and protecting the poor, etc., but that's begging the question) triumphs. No amount of data will prove them wrong. No amount of misdeeds will make them feel ashamed, or doubtful.

My honest assessment is that the best strategy forward is: (1) to speak to people kindly and openly, emphasizing that you doubt their ideology and are not a bigot. It's amazing how many of them have censored and buried any possible objections to their worldview other than bigotry or 'fear' (as if their entire perspective isn't saturated with fear of the right and of Trump).

(2) to continuously highlight the policy absurdities, like introducing gender identity into child custody disputes in Colorado, or declining to make paying for sex with children a felony in California, or shielding child rapists from federal detection in Boston. These things are happening, and they're hard to justify. The left doesn't even try-they just endeavor to shift focus. Shift it right back.

Well said by Jordan Peterson - activism is way too easy. As for Sanders, it's sad to watch him fall into the corporate Dems trap for a third time. The kingmakers will co-opt his message and then slowly wring every progressive bit from it until it's completely meaningless. Sanders should have run as an independent ten years ago.
