THERE is a level of courage that only a handful of independent, investigative journalists possess. The courage that takes you to the deepest ends of the most notorious, corruption scandals in the world; that brings you within six degrees of the elite figures, and institutions, who play God on a national and global scale. Investigative journalists like Gary Webb come to mind, who was best known for publishing his “Dark Alliance” article series that exposed the connection between the vast network of international cocaine smuggling, the crack epidemic, and the CIA’s involvement. Danny Casolaro, and Christian Hansen in his wake, also ring a bell, both investigative journalists, operating on different timelines—Casolaro in the 1980s and Hansen in the 2010s—working on a story about a supposed conspiracy involving various entities within the US government and their covert operations.
American investigative citizen journalist Ian Carroll is cut from this cloth. His penchant for the truth is limitless. His investigations, extremely thorough, take him to the depths many wouldn’t dare to explore for fear of ruffling the feathers of the wrong figures among the elite, or being wrongfully smeared in the public eye. And his methods, fitting for a generation that consumes news primarily via social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter/𝕏.
But a career as an independent, investigative journalist was never among any of Carroll’s future plans. “I was a GameStop investor right after that initial short squeeze moment in the limelight,” he says in a sit-down interview with Robert Breedlove. “And I was pretty ignorant, like I was just a dude snowboarding, and rock climbing, and running around the woods up in the Northwest with political opinions that were given to me that I didn’t really have any basis for.” His journey into investigative journalism only took root when events such as Covid-19, the 2020 elections, and the GameStop ordeal primed him to question everything. From the corruption of the financial system, the concentration of power in a handful of news media conglomerates, and how the whole market is built out of lies, Carroll’s passions quickly shifted away from his teaching background toward wanting to help disseminate all of the information he was independently learning with an engaged audience.
While many investigative journalists are known to privately conduct research into a particular topic of interest before organizing and publishing their findings in a column, book, or commentary that informs readers and viewers alike, Carroll’s process is a little different. And that may be the reason why his research intensive work rapidly amassed approximately 300,000 followers per month in his first few months of sharing his deep-dives on TikTok. Instead of organizing his findings into an article and publishing it in a mainstream publication, Carroll brings his research and findings directly to his audience on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter/𝕏.
His “reporting” style is akin to a Gen Z lecturer, employing social media’s latest tools—think TikTok’s floating talking head with resource graphics featured in the background—to walk his audience through every stage of his thinking process and deep dive research, including original source documents, official data, records, and archives that support his exposés. In this way, Carroll invites viewers to play an active role as investigators, rather than passively engaging with his findings. “By one month into content creation, it was immediately apparent that I could make this my full-time job, and that there was a hunger for understanding, at this base layer, of what’s wrong, not from an expert perspective, but rather from a ‘let’s all figure this out’ perspective,” Carroll shares.
On any given day, Carroll is conducting serial investigative research into the financial lobbyist behemoths that control the world, Big Pharma (I, II), the narrative control by the U.S. Deep State, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the censorship industrial complex, globalist think tank organizations (I, II), the Epstein List, Israel-Palestine conflict, and many, many more.
In a recent video, Carroll dives into his core message of “doing your own research,” offering viewers an inside look at the tools he uses to craft his serial investigative analysis. I have been amazed at how well Ian Carroll can talk about the Jewish organized crime that has been running the earth, into the ground, for lo these many years- and he does it in a wonderfully non racist manner. that's not to say that countless others haven't done it also, but Ian has that certain je ne se qua of being young and good looking, which unfortunately might mean more than his sharp mind and eloquence. the fact that he comes at the information and research as a newby who is just discovering these crucial facts for himself also adds to his appeal in a homer simpson nation where mostly everyone has been made retarted.
