Please remind Mr. Feldman that the first amendment has no purview over sedition and incitement. I would tell him myself, but he can’t stand it when truth interrupts his narrative, so he blocked me.

I would say the “fake news” term used by Trump and MAGA, is basically the same thing. I don’t agree with the statement of the internet existing, so they can’t control people. I feel they manipulate people even easier with social media and with fake government ran news media sites repeating the same lies over and over. It’s made things even more divisive than before, because so many people struggle to separate fact from fiction and if you find a narrative you like, you can always find someone peddling lies of the oligarchy that fit it. People also get the group mentality going on social media and will make someone feel ostracized if they don’t follow along with the narrative. People are sheep and social media has made controlling people even easier as they are inundated constantly with propaganda.

I don’t think it’s a specific set of terms. It is the ongoing and frequent mislabeling any term.

A perfect example would be referring to our macro economic model, over and over and over as “capitalism“. It has nothing to do with capitalism. It is pure “imperialism“.

There are certain techniques that are ubiquitous. Projection, deflection, bald faced lies, what about ism, formally, known as strawman, and the good old ad hominem bullshit.

Conservatives/Republicans have a persecution complex about their social media posts being labeled as misinformation. They claim media bias in favour of the left. They claim the climate studies and election results that have been verified and ratified are produced by leftists, when if fact, it is they, the conservatives who have made themselves the arbiters of leftism. Leftism becomes anything they don’t like, and leftists are defined as anyone who questions them.
